"... Give me liberty or give me DEATH!..."

Patrick gave a very famous speech on March 23, 1775. He wanted war against the British. We were set an assignment to memorize certain parts of it. I have already memorized it, and it is due Monday!
Yay!

The Santa Claus Meet

This weekend, was the Santa Claus Meet, and Fighting Fish got second, under Shanghai American School. (SAS) I did well. On almost all my events, I got Personal Bests ( New Best Times) for my races. Although I did not win any races, I got close to first. The meet was two days long. I hung out with my friends in a secret hideout, and no one knows where it is. My dad is the announcer, so I get special stuff.

My friends that live in Woodlands and I, are going to meet at the pizza party, and go back to their house, and have a sleepover! On Saturday, and Sunday, is the Santa Claus Meet. The biggest meet of the year; that we host.

Weekly Post

This week was only a three day week, but I still decided to make a weekly post. I think I did great this week, I was focused everyday.
In social studies, we had a vocabulary test, and it went fine. The test were vocabulary for the topic: facing slavery. We also did a worksheet on facing slavery.
In science with Mrs.Clayton, we are learning about atoms and molecules, and forming them. We also had home learning for science, which is unusual.
We finished up unit 5 fractions this week, and on Wednesday, we did an open response. I got the REALLY HARD PART CORRECT! I did well on it. I also am working hard on IXL, and I have mastered at least five skills this week. Also, I have done 9 hours, 45 minutes.
In RLA, we started learning about prepositions, and continued on historical fiction. Also, we have a puppet skit project, containing a persuasive speech. Zach, Breann, Riya, and I are doing ours about racism. Another thing that we learned is higher order thinking on characters.
Mr.Buxton is doing an experiment; he isn't going to put h/w on the blog for three weeks.

Weekly Reading

This week I got a pizza slice for realistic fiction, the book was called: The Recruit. I am reading: The Compound, The Graveyard Book, I Am David, JFK, Class A, and Cabin Fever. I am on the second page of my reading log. Also, on Wednesday, i got two plus points, because Mr.Buxton asked me to read a section of our read-aloud book: When My Name Was Keoko.

Thank you.

Weekly Post

This week was a good week for me. I was focused in all subjects. I got moved from Nick, who was sitting next to me before. It was hard to sit next to him, he was not co-operating with me. Now I sit with Zach, Riya, and Breaan. We are a good group, because we don't talk to much. Riya is my new reading, writing, and maths partner.
In maths, we did some turning fractions in to decimals. Some times with calculators, sometimes with our minds. Regular fractions, graphic models, 5.3, 5.4, 5.5, 5.6 are some of the maths things that we did.
In social studies, we started the facing slavery subject. Now I know what the triangular trade route, and that Africa started it. We learned all the things about slavery, and the things that slaves had to do. On Monday, we started a three page worksheet. Also, next week, we have a vocabulary test.
In RLA, we did a persuasive essay, with all the new techniques. e.g. prognosticate, anecdote, rhetorical questions. That was due Friday. Also, we moved onto historical fiction, the books that Mr.Buxton are reading to us are, When My Name Was Keoko, and Freedom Summer. I got my first pizza slice today! Non-fiction. Also, for my reading log, I got a plus point! I think I did good on my essay, because I used many techniques. I completed the whole WILF. I also learned about character debates. (Traits, sayings, actions, relationships, and thinking.)
Thank you.

KWL- Digital citizenship

WHAT I KNEW:Today in technology I learned, about the dangers of social networking, and that you should never give away personal information. I also learned to only be friends with people on the internet that you know.
WHAT I LEARNED: Never click on weird advertisements, like: YOU ARE THE THOUSANDTH CUSTOMER! Click here to win your prize! Those can be viruses. This time, I did some SPAM missions. Now I know how to tell whether a email is SPAM or not. How to tell if someone is bad by what they say on the internet. If someone is bullying you on the internet, report them or ignore them.
