Weekly Post

Hi everyone, every week I will post a progress/learning/presentation/homework things.

This week I will start with goal progress. I am definitely reading faster, and making more inferences, and the other things. But I need to remember to do the book club. I think I raise my hand more, bet still shout. For my third goal, my chart is being filled, and I am coming up with more techniques. My last goal is going well. I am keeping my stuff organized.
This week my reading pizza is empty, but I am about to go earn one.
Now onto my very recent book club presentation. My group did the best out of all! We were the only group that  was in the skilled category. We had the most teamwork, and our work was equal. Our prezi showed everything that it was supposed to. We did a interview.
We had a test this week, I hope I did well. Also, we had a substitute for two days, Ms.Addicks. She taught us some stuff about vowels. We started the persuasive writing unit in RLA also.

Book Club Presentation

George:This is George Janke reporting to you live from the ABC News headquarters in New York City! Today we’ve got a live interview with Cassandra Day and Zoe Reisman about their new book, THE SCHOOL STORY. Now here is top reporter Alex Danielson with the scoop.

Alex: Hi everyone, my name is Alex Danielson, bringing you an interview of Natalie, and Zoe. The the two of you ,tell us a little about yourselves.
Breann: Hi, my name’s Natalie. I am twelve years old. I love writing. I live in New york city, and I have to walk all around it. My... Dad...died. But I’m not going to talk about that.
Sabine: I’m Zoe Reisman. i’m 12 too. I’m pretty much the best arguer I know, because I win every single one. My dad is a lawyer. I was Natalie’s agent for this project. My pseudonym is Agent Zee Zee Reisman. I love in-negotiating with people. As I said, I always win.
Alex: Of course you two collected help from other people. Who where they?
Sabine: Mrs. Clayton, of course. She’s the one that got us this far. Without her, we wouldn’t be here right now.
Breann: You forgot, Zoe. Your father! Without his help we wouldn’t be here either. He was the lawyer!
Alex: I heard it took a lot of effort to get this book published. Could you tell us more about that?
Breann: True. It took a load of work and perseverance. Mrs. Clayton, the helping adult, Mr. Reisman, the lawyer. Me, the writer, and of course, Zoe, the agent. She was brave enough to in-nagotiate with my mom’s horribly horrid boss, Letha Springfield. I would rather die than doing that!
Sabine: It’s true.
Breann: And Mrs. Clayton did a ton of stuff. She got us the office for all the work we needed to do. And she payed for it! Second, She helped us in our time of need. When we found out that
Letha, my mom’s boss, was going to edit it, we exploded with fear. But Mrs. Clayton gave us an idea. Thats when Zoe’s agument came in.
Alex: What is the experience of publishing a book? Many people out there want to know.
Sabine: Too complicated. There’s so much work to be done. But with the right help, an agent, you can do it. You just gotta try.
Breann: Ugh, Zoe. Always gotta point yourself out.
Alex: What do you think about when you see this book?
Breann: My dad and cheaters.
Sabine: The masterpiece of a 12 year old magician.
Alex: Zoe, why were you so very intended to get the books published?
Sabine: Well, you see. Just by reading one chapter, I could tell that this story was destined to get published. And would ya just LOOK at us now!

Alex: Lastly, When do you intend to publish another book.
Breann: WHOA there, slick. Don’t even get me STARTED on that!
Alex: (laugh)
Alex: Thank you very much folks, this is Alex Danielson from ABC Network interviewing Natalie Nelson and Zoe Reisman. This interview is finished, but news about this new great book, The School Story, is still to come. Back to you, George.
George: I’m interviewing Letha Springfield, former boss of Hannah Nelson.To start, Letha, could you tell me about yourself?
Rachel: I am an ex-chief editor of shipely Junior books. I’m really nice, from, well from my own perspective. I have a talent of being a writer... really more a editor. Don’t forget yelling at other people.
George: Well, I’m just wondering how you didn’t get the job for being editor of such a great book, The Cheater? You were ranked higher than Hannah Nelson.
Rachel: The Agent, that awful Zee Zee Reisman, said that she wouldn’t let Shipely publish the book unless Hannah was editor.
George: Harsh, why did you agree to that?
Rachel: well obviously this was such a great book and I didn’t want to waste a good opportunity so I had to give Hannah the job.
I sort of have to because she sort used to work for me. She editor and all I just think I’m better.
George: Okay then, Alex do you have anything to say?
Alex: nope, but we’re closing up. See you next time on ABC news.

My Book Letter

Warriors... May not sound interesting to a variety of people, or many think cats aren't interesting. No, this series is not foolish housecat stories.... This, is forest cats, that fight for survival, who hunt everyday. Four clans live side by side in seperate territories. Many skirmishes keep the cats apart.

Erin Hunter, the author, creates a very fantastic mood to her books. My mind can always visualize the the sounds, textures, voices, kind of day, and wind. Erin makes it sound more exiting.

Some people think that this series would be calm, because of the cats. No, this series has lots of action. Erin Hunter doesn't just have one piece of action, but she takes another one and joines them together. In one book,she had a murderous leader, and brought in a fierce cat to ally. Instead, the fierce cat killed the leader. Every chapter, Erin starts with some interesting hook.
The message that I think Erin Hunter is trying to tell, is to never give up, and never lose faith. These cats go through hard winters, and tough battles, but never give up. They see or do bad things, buts never lose faith in eachother. The cats do not have everything, like we do, but have pride in what they have, because it is all that they can live with.
Something to question about Warriors is, why have so much drama. My quick answer to that was: Erin Hunter has a lot of drama because she wants the reader to always be hooked. What kind of genre is this? Well, when Erin Hunter makes the cats speak, at the end of it, she puts a cat speech. (meow, mew, purr) But... cat battles, and clans, would not typicly happen. So, the book might be normal fiction/action. Why cats? Erin Hunter seems to love cats. That name might be a pseudonim. What is the typical life of the clans? Hunting, patrolling borders, skirmishing, eating prey, and sleeping.

Narrative, and book talk.

This is my baseball narrative, the story fell into the "S" category. ENJOY!

Alex Danielson                 Baseball On A Friday Night

Baseball, I don’t like much of it at all.  In America there is a league called Major League Baseball. Thirty teams play in the league, from all around America. Nine players on a team. Stadiums that are usually for baseball cost four million, and can hold up to at least fifty-thousand people. Players can earn up to 2.5 million dollars. Every team has their own name, personality, and song. For me, the sport is too boring. My life just wondered into baseball when my mom suggested going to a Twins game at Target Field, Minnesota. My feelings drained like a drying up river. My mom knew I extremely disliked baseball, but she soothed my feelings by telling me that it will be fine. 

My name is Alex Danielson; I was born somewhere you wouldn’t expect. My blonde hair always stands out more than everyone else’s. By my face, it looks like I am Scandinavian, with my blue eyes. Having a soccer ball in my hands at all times is what I love to do. To have a swimsuit on and be swimming has always been a favorite of mine. Truly, baseball will never be a fan of mine, what’s the point anyway.

What my eyes saw as we arrives at the field where seats and seats, looking like they go on forever, as if they were stairs to the sky. The baseball fans screaming for the ball like babies crying for a toy they want. Barrage colored grass being tread on by players. Halls of concessions crowded with people. A Jumbo Screen up high shows a close up of what is happening on the diamond field.

Baseball can get very slow. People leave if the game isn’t interesting. Baseball ends in the night, so everyone is tired of hearing almost zilch cracks. When the pitcher throws the ball, the bat makes a loud “crack” when it meets the ball. Some guys fall a sleep during games! Why does baseball have to be four hours long, I don't have time for that?

My feet will never step foot in a baseball stadium again! My mom probably read my mind; she started to cheer me up straight away. My opinion about baseball did not change at all. If I had fallen a sleep in front of everybody, I definitely would of gotten in trouble. But my mind fell a sleep 30 minutes after the game started. I don’t get how people watch baseball. It’s not amusing or cool at all.

My mind was full of regrets. But well, in the end of lots of stories a good thing happens, so I guess that the good things is that I got to go and my family had fun.
